BOOKABLE WORKSHOPS
AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES

Over the years, MUSE – the Science Museum of Trento, has developed a series of educational activities for students on topics covered by the project.
Some of these activities have been designed specifically for LIFE FRANCA in order to provide in-depth information on topics related to flood hazards.

To book one of these educational activities, visit the Learn section of the MUSE website: http://www.muse.it/it/impara/Pagine/Impara.aspx

Activity conducted in the exhibition floors of the MUSE that uses the Science on a Sphere (SOS) multi-projection system.
SOS enables visitors to visualize our planet, its distinguishing natural phenomena and signs of human presence.
During the activity, students will conduct practical experiments to demonstrate the main evidences supporting the theory that global climate change is already underway.

Excursion to San Rocco Hill, one of three hills surrounding the city of Trento.
The view from the hill enables participants to perceive how humans have shaped the landscape of the Adige Valley to meet their needs.
Since ancient times, humans have modified the land to prevent flooding from the rivers and torrents. These interventions have created building areas and farmlands, but the results are not always perfect.

This activity takes place in the MUSE galleries: the first part uses the exhibit SOS Science On a Sphere, while the second part takes palce in the  museum gallery dedicated to environmental risks and Civil Defence.
Interactive approaches and simulations help illustrating the concepts of risks and hazards, of natural hazards and man-made hazards with examples from Trentino and Italy, and the activities carried out by the Civil Defence to safeguard the population.
This workshop delivers a fundamental message: each population must develop lifestyles that are consistent with their environment, know the risk of the area where they live and learn how to live with them.
